AND everything in between. He will be thoroughly going through all of the above in great detail but not limited to just these in particular. If anyone has any areas or topics that they would like to be discussed, please contact Owen directly and he will add it to the day plan. You will also get a chance to ask any questions you have with a full Q AND A that will be available
The Miniature Horse Club Of Great Britain and Owen are certain to make this a productive, informative and advantageous day for everyone so we encourage everyone to come forward and share your topics so that each and everyone of you can benefit in the best possible way. Together this clinic has been drafted for quiet some some time and we promise to deliver a fantastic day.
Silversmith Stud is the current reigning breeder of the year and not only will Owen share his knowledge and experience of getting the horse to the winners circle but also the journey from the initial mare and stallion pairing - it will all be delivered at the clinic. Its hard to find a trainer who can fit/handle them to such a high standard, it’s even harder to find a breeder who can breed them to such a high standard and it’s near impossible to find a trainer and breeder who is willing to share it all with you - this is one not to be missed!!

16th / 17th May 2020
**Update - now also attending are Dengie Horse Feeds with their weighbridge**
MHCGB are delighted to present something a little different over the weekend of 16th and 17th May 2020 at Oakridge Arena.
Starting on the Saturday we bring you our MASTERCLASS "THROUGH THE JUDGE’S EYES" with senior panel judges Russell Marks and Billy Moran. Get an insight into what a judge expects, sees and thinks in the ring.
Both of our judges have judged in the UK and overseas with Billy Moran taking Cuddy Supreme and last year Reserve at HOYS.
This is a unique opportunity to learn from these gentlemen who are at the top of their game.
The day will start at 9am with an introduction by our Club President Jill Robinson whilst you enjoy breakfast pastries and a hot drink.
Participants will then be invited to bring their horses into the arena to present them to Billy and Russell, following this there will be mock classes with feedback.
The MHCGB Performance Trio halter obstacles will be set up for those of you who prefer to concentrate on the performance side.
There will be an hour’s break at approximately 1pm.
Recommencing at 2pm there is a 2 hour slot with British Dressage accredited trainer Lindsay Hancock. You will have the opportunity to go through the MHCGB 2020 tests marked by Lindsay, followed by one to one advice on how to improve your score.
Rebecca Rawlinson of the Concours d'elegance Society of GB will hopefully also be in attendance to give you insight into choosing that perfect Concours outfit.
The daytime session will conclude at approximately 5.30pm giving you a chance to see to your horses and get changed ready for our evening events!
The evening begins with the magnificent Oakridge buffet from 7pm for all participants (there is an option to buy extra tickets at £15 each for partners etc.). Live international band Jacuzzisoup will entertain you with a selection of soul, funk, Motown and disco giving everyone a great opportunity to let their hair down and show off your moves on the dance floor.
We have various packages for this event:
- Masterclass which includes buffet £80
- Masterclass plus 1 overnight stable for Saturday and 2 free class entries for our show on 17th May £110
- additional stables and additional buffet tickets also available, please see booking form for details.
Why not pay in instalments? We are quite happy for you to do this to help spread the cost, please speak to Janice to arrange.
Sunday sees the Pre-Summer Area Show commence at 10am (judge TBC).
This show is open to all members and those eligible for membership not just Masterclass attendees. Both Billy and Russell will be on hand in the collecting ring to give you advise and feedback.
